General Chokechai Hongstong was one of the first three Thai students to graduate from the Citadel in 1963. He rose to the rank of Chief of Joint Staff, Royal Thai Armed Forces and held rank of General, Admiral, Air Chief Marshall, 1998-2000. Upon retirement was named Advisor to the Defence Minister and Deputy Prime Minister. In his early years as an Officer in the Royal Thai Army he saw action in Korea, Cambodia, Laos, and the long struggle against communist insurgency in Thailand. He received two US Legion of Merit’s-Degree of Officer and Degree of Commander. Also, Chairman of Security Committee of the Thai National Legislative Assembly.
